Age Restrictions and Exceptions under 16's by invitation (for special groups) - † teams with hikers aged eighteen or over cannot win 'Explorer Trophy' but will receive certificates and medals 12½-13 and 14½ upto 15th birthday permitted only on Hike Director's discretion Each team may not contain more than one ten-year old, nor may it contain more than one fourteen-year old.
Membership There are no membership restriction to the Jubilee Event. It is an 'Open' Event open to non-Scouting and to Scouting alike. There are no membership restriction to the Classic Event. It is an 'Open' Event open to non-Scouting and to Scouting alike. Hikers must be a member of either the Scout Association or Girl Guide Assocation. Under special circumstances, occasional invitations will be made to other approved Youth Organisations. Hikers entering the ScoutPlus Event must be a member of a Scout Troop working towards their link to an Explorer Scout Unit or have recently been invested as an Exploer Scout (but were still in the Troop on 31 Dec 2009). Additionally, at least two of the entrants in a team must have completed the Scout event in a previous year in a time under 7½ hours. Hikers entering the Scout Event must be a member of a Scout Troop. Scouts who have joined an Explorer Scout Unit cannot enter this event.
