Nature of event

The "Three Towers Hike" is the name of an event primarily intended for members of the Scout Association. It is organised by members and associate members of the Scout Association, most of whom are attached to Reading Central Scout District. The event is sanctioned by the District Commissioner who has the ultimate responsibility for the event.

The hike director will not accept entries from individuals not connected with the Scout Association unless the Scout Association's personal accident insurance waiver is completed. All entrants under 18 years must have a parental or guardian's permssion to take part.

Event management

The event is organised by a committee, the "Three Towers Hike Committee" who meet to prepare the event. The event is authorised by the District Commissioner of Reading Central District in the Royal County of Berkshire, United Kingdom. The organising committee is chaired by Mr Bob Spokes. Secretarial and administrative services is by Mr Peter Swynford.

The committee meets to organise the event, performs risk assessments of its activities, and makes provisions for the smooth running and success of the event. Co-opted members are welcomed.

In the event of any dispute, the District Commissioner of Reading Central will have the final decree. The Laws of England apply

Child Protection

To protect the young people concerned, and in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules ('POR') of the Scout Association, no reference to individuals under the age of 25 years appears on this site in such a form that someone not familiar with the individual could deduce the identity of the said person from materials contained on the site. This does not exclude the use of photographs or result data however, in such cases, the identity of the individuals will not be cross-referenced between photographic evidence and result data. (If we have inadvertently done so, please let us know).
